What the world mostly looks like, these days. |
Proof that blocking really works! After being dunked in water and pinned to the couch for a few hours, that big bundle of orange granny knitting was transformed into a pretty, hip, lacy scarf. I officially approve. Though I'm still iffy about the color. I think it's an October scarf not a March scarf.
And I need a shawl pin. I've been using a wooden hair stick, which is every bit as dangerous as it sounds.
The maluka shawl is a lovely free pattern—check it out here.
Your shawl is lovely. And the colour is great.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of trying one of these shawls soon, a fairly quick project, and the lacy bits are so attractive.
Hey, I just cast on a Maluka shawl! Mine will definitely be in March colors - daffodil yellow and some streaks of green. It's a great pattern and it looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty shawl (which I love by the way as a window treatment!). You can totally pull off that colour all year long Mary! I am amazed at your ability to produce such objects of loveliness while mothering your four little ones.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
Deletemy goodness, thank you Erin! Knitting is great for mothering-lifestyle, I find...it's so portable, and plus you spend so much time sitting on your bum when you're nursing. I need something to do! If only I could translate this productivity into other areas of my life, like finishing school and my house! Oh well, there's only time for this or that.
DeleteI tend to read while I nurse...maybe that's why I'm still a baby knitter. Even reading knitting books doesn't improve my skills. I need lessons!
DeleteI think it is a lovely color, although I agree with you that it feels more fall than spring. A lovely pattern, too.
ReplyDeleteaww pretty :) That's my favorite color <3
ReplyDeleteI'm totally digging your red knitted scarf which also comes in handy as a piece to brighten up any room! Love it!
ReplyDeleteKick ass shawl :D
