Season of Mud and Mellow Muddiness

...to misquote the poet.

Oh how we have longed for this warm weather! It's still snowing here and there, but the general trend is warm enough for tapping maple trees! There was a general exodus from the Pemberton house today: playing in mud, drilling holes for maple taps, squaring logs, and bush clearing—therapy for Will, firewood for me!

  1. Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your blog. I came across it by way of Soul Gardening. I'm also raising a gaggle of boys on a farm in the northern climes and I'm also a habitual fermenter of vegetables and repurposer of fabrics, so we are kindred spirits! Thanks for blogging - I could never do it, but I love that you do.

  2. This morning with coffee, I got caught up on your blog. I too enjoy it so much! I loved your take on February and am so happy to hear of your anticipated arrival! I remember when your youngest was born, just before you moved, I believe. Your family is beautiful and you look like you have the most wonderful life. And I must say, Hugh's bird drawings are quite good!
